My name is James.
Cooperative Living is a blog that I started while living in the Fletcher Collective, a KCH cooperative that I helped found in 2007 and departed in 2009. My continued involvement with the KCH Board of Directors forms the context of Cooperative Living today.
This blog is not intended to be a chronicle of only my experience with cooperative living. My hope is that from this platform, a collaborative forum might arise, to which many contribute, more clearly defining that the ideas behind cooperative living. Please put your insights on the blog or contact me if you are intersted in collaborating on this project.
More information about the houses and initiatives of Kalamazoo Collective Housing (KCH) are available on our website, kalamazoo.coop.

Hi James! Just wanted you to know I stopped in to check out your blog! I’m so glad you chose this topic, it is great! Added you to my blog roll!!
This is really cool! I am actually doing research to start my own collective housing unit in Kalamazoo for owners of American Pit Bull Terriers. I’m really passionate about this breed, and upset that they are so harshly discriminated against in most American cities. A collective may be a great solution to raise awareness, and host all kinds of learning sessions (like your bread workshop, and silk screening classes).
Great Work!
